This Indenture, made this twenty-seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five between WILLIAM B. WOOD of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and JOSIAH MAXEY of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said WILLIAM B. WOOD for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged hath granted bargained, sold and conveyed and do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said JOSIAH MAXEY his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Clarke on the waters of Wild Cat Creek containing one hundred acres be the same more or less butting and bounding as follows Beginning at a dogwood corner running S thirty five chas 13 links to a red O thence S 46 degrees W thirty eight chas to a red Oak thence N 38 degrees W twelve chas to a Persimmon thence N 48 degrees E seven chas to a black O thence S 85 degrees E eight chas to a red O thence N 32 degrees E seven chas to a pine thence W eleven chas to a P O thence N 48 degrees E seven chas to a pine thence N 25 degrees E twenty chas to a pine thence a straight line to a poplar corner thence S 60 degrees W twenty seven chas to the beginning dogwood corner.

To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said Josiah Maxey his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. And the said William B. Wood for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Josiah Maxey his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend, the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatever.
