Jane & Joseph Dunnahoo purchase 2 acres From J. R. Matthews for $1,500
} This indenture made this fourth day of March in the year of our
Clarke County } Lord one Thousand eight hundred and Fifty Four between John R. Matthews of the County of Clarke and State of Georgia on the one part and Jane Dunnahoo wife of James Dunnahoo and Joseph H. Dunnahoo of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John R. Matthews for and in consideration of the Sum of fifteen hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained sold and conveyed, and doth by these presents, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Jane Dunnahoo and Joseph H. Dunnahoo their heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Clarke in the town of Athens & State aforesaid and bounded as follows, to wit on the north by the Street running parallel between said lot and Patrick Barvey on the west by the street leading to the upper Bridge on the South by the street running parallel between said lot and Henry Hull and on the east by John H. Newtons lot lately owned by Richard Says containing two acres more or less.
To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto them the said Jane Dunnahoo & Joseph H. Dunnahoo their heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to them and their own proper use benefit and behalf forever in fee simple. And the said John R. Matthews for himself his heirs executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Jane Dunnahoo and Joseph H. Dunnahoo their heirs and assigns will Warrant and Forever Defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the Claim of all other persons whatever.
