This Indenture, made the twenty third day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two, between THOMAS BOOTH of the county of Clarke and State aforesaid of the one part, and WILLIAM H. ASHFORD of the aforesaid State and county of the other part, Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to him in hand, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell unto the said WILLIAM H. ASHFORD his heirs and assigns, all that lot or parcel of land situate lying and being in the Town of Watkinsville in said county and known in the plan of said town by Lot number (8) eight, Bounded by Broad Street and Lots six seven and nine together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining.

To have and to hold unto the said WILLIAM H. ASHFORD his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple. And the said THOMAS BOOTH for himself, his heirs, the said lot or parcel of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said WILLIAM H. ASHFORD his heirs and assigns, against the claim of himself, and against the claim of all and every other person or persons whatsoever, will warrant and forever defend, by virtue of these presents.

In witness whereof the said THOMAS BOOTH hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.
