Lawyer Olaf Tolnas Claimed by Death

Mr. Olaf J. Tolnas, 80, an Athens Attorney, died Saturday night after an illness of several days. He lived at 420 W. Rutherford. Mr. Tolnas, a native of Glynn County, Ga., was the son of the late Halvor Ole and Marie Eriksen Tolnas. He attended the University of Georgia and was a 1913 graduate of the University School of law. He served in World War I and World War II, retiring from the service with the rank of lieutenant colonel. After World War II he served at the Nuremberg trials in Germany.

A resident of Athens for 45 years, he was a member of the Retired Officers Association and the Athens Bar Assn. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gladys Isowther Tolnas of Athens; two sons, Trygve J. Tolnas of Rockdale, Tex., and Edwin Tolnas of Princeton, N.J.; two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today from the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home, with the Rev. Raby Edwards officating(sic) Burial was to be at 5:30 p.m. today in Oak Grove Cemetery in Brunswick. The family requested that flowers be omitted and those so desiring to make a contribution to their favorite charity.
