Nathan A. "Gus" Hobbs, 87, 220 Hobbs Road, died Thurday, Aug 28.

A native of Oglethorpe County, he had lived in Clarke County for the past 56 years. A retired farmer, he was a veteran of the Mexican Campaign and World War I. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Lang officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leathia K. Hobbs; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Paz, Mrs. Sarah H. Attaway, Decatur, and Mrs. Lorraine H. Egerton, Littleton, N.C.; a son, Nathan A. Hobbs III, Athens; four sisters, Mrs. Eula Tidwell, Gainseville, Fla., Mrs. Mary Lou Yarbrough, Mrs. Nancy Bridges, Carlton, and Mrs. Edna McCannon, Atlanta; five brothers, George and Robert Hobbs, St. Petersburg, Fla., Joe Hobbs, Groesbeck, Texas, W.D. and C.B. Hobbs, Ben Hill; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will recieve friends from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
