Mrs. Irene Davis Wilson Is Clamed By Death At Home
Mrs. Irene Davis Wilson died Wednesday morning at 12:20 o'clock at her residence, 152 Arch Street, following an illness of several months. She was in her fortieth year.
Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at East Athens Baptist Church, Rev. Pope Duncan, pastor of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and Rev. B. L. Betts, pastor of Oconee Street Methodist church, officiating.
Interment will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery, Bernstein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be A. L. Brooks, R. N. Wilson, Bob Seagraves, Clarence McLeroy, W. E. Pettyjohn, Luther Holcomb, J. N. Hartford and Dr. Weyman Davis.
Surviving Mrs. Wilson are her husband, Delpha F. Wilson; a daughter, Miss Helen Wilson; her mother, Mrs. Young Davis; three sisters, Mrs. Berry Captain, Mrs. Bernice Brooks and Mrs. Marie Davis Baker; a brother, Harry Davis. Born in Athens, Mrs. Davis had spent her life here and was one of the city's most beloved women. A charming personality and kindly disposition had endeared her to a wide circle of friends and her passing will be a source of deepest regret to all who loved her
