Death of Good woman occurred at early house yesterday at her home here. Mrs. Gertrude McCune, aged 56 years, died at her home on Broad St. at 7:15 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of many months. Her condition until a very few days ago, however, had not been thought critical. She is survived by her husband, Mr. D. J. McCune, a member of the Athens police force, by one daughter and one son. Miss Gracie McCune and Mr. John McCune. Two sisters and two brothers also survive her, Mrs. Annie Emerick and Mrs. C. C. Seagraves, both of Athens and Mr. J. H. Richards, of Athens, and Mr. T. S. Richards, of Blackshear, GA. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. E. W. Jones, pastor of the Oconee Street Methodist church, from the church at Princeton this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, and the interment will be in the cemetery at Princeton. The party will leave the residence at 1:00 o'clock. The following will be the pallbearers: Messrs. D. D. Newsome, Jack Lester, Charles James, W. J. Brittain, Weldon Wood, and K. A. Hill. Mrs. McCune was a good woman in every relation of life - patient and loyal to every charge and she had many friends who will mourn her departure and sympathize with those who are bereaved sorely by her death.
