Death Takes Frank Smith On Monday

Frank R. Smith, 51, native of Lexington who moved to Washington, D.C., fifteen years ago died at his home in Washington, Monday, after a short illness.

Funeral services will be conducted a the graveside in the Presbyterian cemetery at Lexington at 10 a.m. Thursday morning. Bernstein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Reverend C.H. Wheelis, pastor of the Lexington Methodist church, will officiate.

Mr. Smith is survived by a brother, Joe J. Smith, Raleigh, N.C.; a niece, Virginia Smith, Raleigh, N.C.; nephew, Fred W. Howser, jr., Raleigh; an aunt, Mrs. J.J. Smith, Lexington, and a number of cousins.

Mr. Smith moved to washington (sic) to take up a responsible position with the U.S. Navy Department which he held until the time of his death. He is well remembered by a host of friend not only in Lexington, but also in Athens, and his passing is a source of sorrow to them.
