C.T. Peeler Dies: Rites At 3 Today

Mr. Clovis T. Peeler, 83, of 625 Hawthorne Ave. died Friday night after being in failing health for several months.

Mr. Peeler, a native and a life long resident of Clarke County, was the son of the late Hiram H. and Lula Parson Peeler. For a number of years he was connected with the University of Georgia, retiring in 1955 and later was connected with the Clarke County Board of Education, retirng in 1970. He was a member of the Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church.

Suvivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Sanders Peeler of Athens, daughter; Mrs. L.H. Wallace of Decatur, two sons; T.H. Peeler and Hugh H. Peeler, both of Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Fred McRee of Roswell and Mrs. Ann Wier Carlton of Atlanta; three brothers, Clarence I. Peeler Sr. of Decatur, Herbert Peeler of Smyrna and Harry Peeler of New Orleans, La.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. O.H. (Hattie) Peeler of Athens and Mrs. Ruth Hill of New York; two grandsons, Terry L. Peeler of Atlanta and Johnnny T. Peeler of Athens, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at the graveside in Oconee Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Oscar Crosby officiating.

The body will be at Bridges Funeral Home until 2 p.m. today. The family is at the residence of his son, Hugh H. Peeler, 25 Wells Dr.
