Miss Bessie Brightwell Cabaniss And William E. Hopkins, Jr., USN, Wed At Home Ceremony, December Twentieth.

Dr. William Harvey Cabaniss announces the marriage of his daughter, Bessie Brightwell to William Edward Hopkins, Jr., Yeoman second class, USN on December 20, at 5:00.

The wedding was quietly solemized at home in the presences of the immediate families. Dr. Harvey C. Holland, pastor of the First Methodist church, performed the ceremony. Mrs. Noel Langdale, jr., sister of the bride, played the nuptial music.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a steel blue suit, with brown accessories. Her flowers were white orchids and narcissus.

Mrs. Hopkins is the third daughter of Dr. William Harvey Cabaniss and the late Bessie Brightell(sic). Her sisters are Mrs. John H.T. McPherson jr., and Mrs. Noel Langdale, jr., both of Athens. Her only brother is William Harvey Cabaniss, jr., now a student of the University of Georgia.

She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Edward Hopkins, of Athens. He attended the University of Georgia, and was affilitated with the University of Georgia School of Aviation, prior to his enlistment in the Navy.

Following a short wedding trip the groom reported to Norfolk, Va., for overseas duty.
