Artickles of agreement enterd into between James J. Jennings of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and his former Slaves but now freedmen of the same place of the of other part. Witnesseth that the aforesaid James J. Jennings for inconcideration of the Services of the aforesaid Freedmen on his farm from the first of January 1865 to the 25 of December of the Same Date obligate and bind Himself to pay to the man Laborer to wit Ace Thirtyfive bushels of corn and 10 gallons of sirrup and furnish him with good and holesom rations and the usual clothing and medical aid & I also agree to give Mary five bushels of corn and 5 gallons of sirrup with the usual clothing and medical aid & I further agree to give Nancy Daniell Caroline & Marys 2 children good and wholsom rations and the usual clothing and medical aid.
And the above named freedmen and women on there part obligate and bind themselvs to to work faithful on the farm of there formr master until the 25th of December next and obey him and there former Mistress in all things and they further agre to use no Profin Language nor leave the farm of there former Master without his Permition this the 12th of August 1865.
