Gateway Cemetery
Gateway Church, a member of the United Methodist organization, is located .4 miles east off Jefferson Road. The current church was built in 1876 in the brush arbor that the church had been congregating at since its inception. The church taught the shape note system for their music. The gentleman who donated money for the church building, although not a member of this congregation, was a fan of their lovely music, and only donated the money on the condition that no musical instruments would ever be allowed in the church building.
